BASEBALL

The 6A Southern Region will decided next week on Monday, April 23, when the Tucson Subregion champ faces the Yuma Subregion champ. Those two races are still pretty muddy.

Buena (5-1) can win the 5A Southern Region with a victory over Cienega (3-2) on Monday, April 16. The 5A Sonoran is still a tight race.

Douglas (6-0) and Rio Rico (4-1) play each other on Thursday in the 4A Gila Region while Nogales 5-0 still has a bit to go to get past Catalina Foothills (4-1) in the 4A Kino Region.

Sabino (10-0) can clinch the 3A South with a win over Catalina (6-2) on Tuesday.

Bisbee (10-1) can win the 2A East Region with a victory over Benson (3-5) on Friday. Willcox (8-2) is still in play with a win over Bisbee.

Baboquivari (4-1) and St. David (3-1) will meet on Tuesday for the 1A South Region title.

 

SOFTBALL

Tucson (2-1) is in the driver’s seat for the Tucson Subregion title. The 6A Southern Region championship will be played on April 23.

The 5A Southern Region will go down to the wire with Ironwood Ridge (5-1), Cienega (4-1) and Mountain View (3-2) playing each other this week. The 5A Sonoran should be decided by Friday.

Amphitheater (6-0) won the 4A Gila Region. Salpointe (6-0) and Canyon del Oro (4-1) will play on Tuesday in a 4A Kino battle.

The 3A South Region might not be decided until Monday, April 23.

Benson (7-0) is way up in the 2A East Region but the Bobcats have five region games remaining.

Valley Union (4-0) plays St. David (2-1) on Monday for the 1A South title.

 

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Tucson (2-0) plays Rincon/UHS (2-1) on Friday, April 20 for what could be the 6A Southern Region title.

Ironwood Ridge (7-0) won the 5A Sonoran Region while Mountain View (7-1) and Cienega (6-1) look to share the 5A Southern Region. Salpointe (7-0) and Canyon del Oro (5-1) will meet on Tuesday but the 5A Kino Region is far from over.

 

BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Salpointe (6-0) won the Division I, Section VII title.

 

BOYS TENNIS

Buena won the D-I/S-VII title, Catalina Foothills won D-II/S-VII and Nogales won D-I/S-VIII. Pusch Ridge (5-0) can win the D-III/S-II title with a win over Sahuarita (4-1) on Tuesday. The Gregory School (8-0) won the D-III/S-III championship.

 

GIRLS TENNIS

Rincon/UHS (5-0) won the D-I/S-VII title, Catalina Foothills (5-0) took the D-II/S-VII title and Nogales won the D-II/S-VIII title. Sahuarita (5-0) and Pusch Ridge (5-0) will play on Tuesday for the D-III/S-VII championship and The Gregory School (8-0) won the D-III/S-VIII title.

 

D-III GOLF

No. 4 Desert Christian is far ahead in Section 7.
