Dobson, Zoemisch win 5A-I baseball elimination game

Down but not out. Dobson pitcher Mike Zoemisch made sure of that Thursday for the Mustangs at the 5A-I state baseball tournament. Zoemisch went right after hitters all game long without power stuff and pitched the No. 14 seed Mustangs to a 5-2 victory over Trevor Browne in an elimination game at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Casa Grande baseball uses pitching, defense to beat Westwood

Casa Grande was pumped up to play its baseball game with Westwood on Friday afternoon at HoHoKam Park, the spring home of the Chicago Cubs. The Cougars did not let the excitement of the venue interfere with their play as pitching and defense ruled in a 7-0 triumph over the host Warriors in a 5A East Valley Region game.
